SUMMARY
A Club Director for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Jackson County directs and manages the overall daily operations of the Club site with primary responsibility for program administration, staff supervision, facilities management, community relations, membership development, and measurable program outcomes.
This position places a strong emphasis on advancing youth development and workforce readiness, building meaningful community partnerships, and creating impactful events and experiences that prepare Club members for future success.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Program Leadership & Youth Development
- Oversee and evaluate all Club programs, services, and activities to ensure alignment with the BGCJC mission and youth development outcomes.
- Design and implement programs that promote academic success, character development, leadership, and workforce readiness.
- Integrate life skills, career exploration, and workforce development into daily programming.
- Workforce Development & Career Readiness
- Develop and lead initiatives that prepare youth for post-secondary success, including job readiness, financial literacy, leadership skills, and career exploration.
- Establish partnerships that provide opportunities such as job shadowing, internships, mentorships, and exposure to career pathways.
- Track and report measurable outcomes related to workforce readiness and youth success.
- Community Relations & Partnership Development
- Serve as a key ambassador for the Club, building and maintaining relationships with schools, businesses, civic groups, and community organizations.
- Collaborate with community stakeholders and employers to expand opportunities for youth development and workforce engagement.
- Increase Club visibility through outreach, marketing, and public engagement efforts.
- Event Planning & Community Engagement
- Plan, coordinate, and execute Club events that support youth development and workforce readiness (e.g., career fairs, leadership events, family engagement nights, signature fundraising events).
- Engage staff, volunteers, and community partners in successful event execution.
- Ensure events enhance community awareness, member recruitment, and program impact.
- Financial Management
- Manage Club financial resources in accordance with the approved budget.
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial operations.
- Oversee deposits, banking transactions, and financial reporting as needed.
- Staff Leadership & Human Resources
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and volunteers.
- Foster a positive work environment focused on professional growth and accountability.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and support ongoing staff development.
- Member Engagement & Behavior Management
- Utilize effective youth guidance strategies and progressive discipline practices.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all members.
- Operations & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of programs, participation, and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
- Facilities & Safety Management
- Ensure the safety and well-being of members, staff, and visitors through proper facility and equipment management.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and functional Club environment.
- Collaboration & Organizational Support
- Work closely with senior leadership, board members, and stakeholders to support organizational goals.
- Participate in organizational initiatives, special programs, and events (e.g., Youth of the Year, Night for Youth).
- Perform other duties as assigned, including transportation of members when necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- Two to five years of experience in youth development, nonprofit, or related field
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, event planning, and/or workforce development programming preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Proven leadership ability, including staff supervision and team development
- Experience in program development, evaluation, and outcome measurement
- Familiarity with budget management and financial oversight
- Ability to collaborate effectively with community partners and stakeholders
- Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with membership databases preferred
- Spanish language skills preferred
- Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL preferred) and ability to pass background checks
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation. The position may also require occasional driving for Club-related purposes.
