Employers! Does your company have open part-time and/or full-time positions for high school students who are graduating in 2024?

The Education Committee of the Jackson County Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the third annual Ready to Work Job Expo. It's a job expo specific to graduating high school students who will be entering the workforce after graduation.

If you work for a company that wants to have a table at the 2024 Work Ready Job Expo, the following criteria must be met:

1. Employer will hire high school students who will be graduating in 2024.
2. Employer must be offering positions for immediate hire 
(within three months).

If your company meets the above criteria, please reserve your spot by clicking the green register button to the right.  You must complete the registration in full. Several questions require answering before the registration can be submitted.

Mark your calendars now for the 2024 Jackson Derby!

The Jackson Derby is an event for everyone! This annual networking and social event attracts business and community leaders right to the virtual track. Big hats, seersucker suits, bow ties, bourbon tastings and of course mint juleps! There will be nail-biting races, great music and dinner.


Sponsor a horse for $25 and you get to name it!  Your business and horse will be listed in the event program and on the big screen, you do not have to be present to sponsor a horse!  
Examples: An insurance company may name a horse "Fire and Casualty" or a bank could choose, "Money Maker."  Be creative and fun!

Betting begins for first race at 6:30 p.m. SHARP!

Fun Facts
The Capponi family of Florence dates back to 1054 and has a colorful history. Count Capponi has an ancestor who stopped the French king from invading Italy and his family estate was used as a set for the second Hannibal Lecter movie.
The Capponis were famous for being enterprising merchants and entrepreneurs, developing the silk trade in Florence and moving into banking. The wine estate, Villa Calcinaia, was acquired in 1524.

Whether the training is targeted towards professional and personal development, skill set training or tips and tricks for small businesses, these sessions offer a fun and convenient way to grow.
