Upcoming Events
Women United hosts its annual Power of the Purse this year on Dec. 2. In support of their mission of early childhood literacy, Women United is asking community members to attend and help co-author a love of reading in the lives of our local children. Ensuring a child receives age-appropriate books each month is an invaluable way to help a child’s learning and growth. Registration as an individual for this year’s event is the cost of sending a child between birth and age five an age-appropriate book each month for a year via our Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program. The event includes Carol Aebersold, videos from parents of children who have received Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library books, the founders of our local Women United group, and some special features from a real-life around-town elf. This event features an online auction that is open to the public. Anyone can participate using this link and bid on items. Proceeds support Women United's focus on early childhood literacy by supporting our Dolly Parton's Imagination Library programs
